300,000 pints of Real Ale, Real Lager and Real Cider! The Great British Beer Festival is the biggest pub in the world! Organised by CAMRA, the Campaign For Real Ale, it takes place at the start of August at Earl's Court in London. The event is entirely staffed by volunteers, from the stewards to the bar staff and from the media office to the on-site beer laboratory crew. There's a week of live entertainment, pub games, stalls, food and, of course, drink, with the world's largest selection of Real Ales ever assembled under one roof! I go behind the scenes to report on the lead-up to the festival, report on the judging of the Champion Beer of Britain, and hopefully talk to some of the happy real ale fans while managing to quaff a pint or two myself!
